Paradox: The birth of a saviour, The death of a loved one

This Christmas I am rather bitter sweet, I am sorry to spoil your happy family time with the title. By no means I intend to make you feel guilty for being happy. On the bulletins lately I have seen reports of the accidents happening during this festive season and I haven't showed emotion to it, because it’s distant. “I will just pray for them” I said lightly. But this morning I received a phone call from a dearly loved one delivering the bad news to me that her loved one has passed on last night due to a car accident. After the phone call I sat and thought about it “What a paradox”, isn't it funny that we take things lightly until they happen to us or close to us?

Scriptures flooding my mind as I am trying to make sense out of this, but scripture alone is not enough. I am writing to all people who have lost their loved ones during this happy season, well, as much as we celebrate there are people who are mourning saying “it’s not the same without you” as they look in the sky with tears flooding their eyes. Trying to be happy, but deep inside lies a wound that opens up every time they pass this season for they haven't healed yet… I know a few.

“I will not leave you all alone like orphans. I will come to you. In a very short time the people in the world will not see me. You will live because I live” these are the words of Jesus the Christ of whom we celebrate his birth today,
The Son of God whose Kingdom will never end
He was there in the beginning and everything that was created came through him,
He is not only the alpha but omega as well.
One time Lazarus was sick and he didn't come to his rescue until four days after his death and he rose him up from the dead and said “I AM the resurrection”,
He is the same I AM who said to Moses “Tell them I AM has sent you”.
They tried to dispute his existence and for more than 2000 years they have failed,
he is Emmanuel- God is with us. They nailed him to the cross, he died and rose from the dead!

He said “You will live because I live”, to all those who have lost their loved ones, cry you must but don't cry like those who have no hope because they may have disappeared for a while, but because he lives, they will also rise again on the set date. “…And on that day you will know that I am the Father. You will also know that you are in me and I am with you”.

You are not cursed, God is trusting HIMSELF in you that you will triumph for his grace is sufficient.
